Guests
may stay at the Hospital Hospitality House (HHH) after
requesting a referral from a Chaplain, Social Worker, Patient
Relations or Senior Nursing staff from all participating Lexington
hospitals. These referrals are necessary to ensure that there is
space available and to ensure guests of a reservation.
The Hospital Hospitality House
is open from 7:00am to 10:00pm each evening every day. Check-in
for new guests that are being referred by the hospital must be
prior to 7:00pm.
When guests arrive, they are
greeted with a friendly smile and an explanation of all the
services and facilities available. Whenever possible, new guests
are taken on a tour of the house. (To see these services please
visit the Guest Facilities link.) The HHH is equipped for stays
of all length, be it just a night or an extended period of time.
Hospital Hospitality House
operates by donations, so guests are asked to please make a
suggested donation of $10.00/day to assist with the operational
costs for their stay.

" Dear Lynn, It truly was a
god send to have a place to stay where I could be near my
husband when he was suddenly hospitalized. But as much as
this meant to me, the kindness and caring shown by you and
the staff at the Hospital Hospitality House meant so much
more. From the time I entered your door and was greeted with
Laurie's warm smile to my final farewell, I was treated not
only with respect, but also thoughtfulness from every person
on your staff."
-Phalle "Sam" Wright, Former Guest |
We have a dorm-style set up and
guests will not have their own room or a bathroom in the
room. We do not have wheelchair access and most guests must be
able to negotiate a flight of stairs. We do our very best to
accommodate when we are able to do so.
We ask our new guests to
'check in' before 7:00 p.m., so we can do a short orientation
with them. After checking in, unpacking their bag and making
their bed, they are free to go back to the hospital to visit
their loved one once again and need not return until 10:00 p.m.
Please call us first to ensure
we have a bed available rather than just sending someone over
with the referral form. The information we require to ensure a
proper referral and that we have space is as follows:
How many males and females
desire to be our guest and their names - unless it is excluded
by HIPPA regulations.
Whether they desire to be an
overnight guest or a day guest
If the prospective guests are
one male and one female, are they a 'couple,' and, if so, would
they be upset if they were to be assigned to separate rooms for
sleeping only.
We thank you in advance for
your assistance and cordially invite you to stop by, at your
convenience, for a tour of the house and some refreshment.
